Route

In the latest plans, Subway Line 6 will run from Wulu via Ganjiakou through to Fuchengmen and head through the so-called Chaofu Road, running through Fuchengmen and Chaoyangmen before heading for Chaoyang North Road.

In previous plans, Line 6 would run from Wulu via Chegongzhuang all the way through to Di'anmen underneath Linglong Road, Chegongzhuang Street and Ping'an Boulevard. At Di'anmen, it would then head south, running alongside Chaoyangmen Inner Street and Chaoyangmen Outer Avenue. It would finally head into Tongzhou District along Chaoyang North Road.

The very original Line 6 had a slightly different route planned, running under Fushi Road and Chaofu Road, and would link up with the current Line 6 at Chaoyangmen, heading for Chaoyang North Road.

The new Line 6 merged the original Line 6 with the original Line 3 (which would have run through all of Ping'an Boulevard). As a result, Dongsishitiao Subway Station will still be left as an interchange station without actual usage of interchange facilities, but Chaoyangmen Subway Station is expected to become an interchange station.

Express Services

There are plans of building larger stations to enable for express services, which would not call at smaller stations.
