Dongcheng District

Dongcheng District (东城区, Hanyu Pinyin: Dongcheng Qu) is one of Beijing's 18 districts and counties. It lies in central Beijing and is part of both the original four districts inside the city wall and the Eight Urban Districts of Beijing.

Geographically, Dongcheng is in the northeastern part of central Beijing. The Beijing government complex, as well as Tian'anmen Square, are all part of the district.

Dongcheng District is also home to the Wangfujing shopping area.
